COLOR TRENDS and Themes

Swarovski Color Themes

Each fashion season, Swarovski's expert in-house team release new color combinations or color themes in conjunction with their seasonal Crystallized™ - Swarovski Elements new releases in sizes, colours, and shape. These predictions are in line with the upcoming and growing fashion trends. Swarovski has acquired a worldwide respected trend competence in the haute couture fashion houses. The suggested colours in Swarovski Color Themes work amazingly well together; each enhancing and blending with the other in holistic ways. These themes are developed with other industry forecasters and trend experts.

Structure: This is my personal analysis of how Swarovski organizes their Color Trending Themed releases.

  • It comes out together with the bi-annual releases of Swarovski Innovations.
  • Swarovski gives a name to the overall color trends; e.g. for Autumn/Winter 2011/12, the color trend was named "Animal Instincts".
  • Within this named color trend package, Swarovski normally has 5 facets - color combinations - that they suggest will go not only with the current innovations release simultaneously, but is reflective of and predictive of the color sense, the color combination, and the feel, movement, and texture most desirous in the upcoming seasons.

Use these colour themes to produce truly harmonious colours, as a starting point for your own inspiration, or whenever you feel you are drawing a blank in terms of inspiration. This is like getting free consultation from the industry experts to get you going again!

A personal note:
I once didn't pay much attention to this and even when I saw the combinations (on paper and on screen), I didn't think much about it. But at the end of the day, Swarovski has not retained the leader position by employing sloughs. And the proof is really in the pudding. I used a couple of their suggested colour combinations and not only was I immensely pleased with the surprising results but a lot of people commented on the colours. When put together in a real piece of work, the aesthetic charm and harmony of the colours is quite remarkable. I suggest you give the Swarovski colour combinations a try. After all, the top haute couture houses in Europe, Americas, and Australasia do!!
