Each fashion season, Swarovski's team of experts, working in conjunction with other industry experts, release crystal-trend themes. They may come in combination with new innovations, colours, and effects. The seasonal crystal themes are presented using the unendingly glorious Crystallized™ - Swarovski Elements.

Furthermore these Innovations are released to color themes and predictions that are inline with these innovations as well as predictive of the needs in the upcoming seasons. Swarovski is highly respected and informed in predicting the colors and color combinations that will be most sought after in the coming seasons and they work hand in hand with other industry color and trend experts. It does not say anywhere (that I know of) and it has always puzzled me how Swarovski labels their releases. For example, in the second half of the year 2010, they released their second yearly new releases and extensions. It was officially labeled as "Innovations for autumn/Winter 2011/12".

But I think I have finally figured it out: that these new releases is their predictions for what will be in trend in the coming seasons/year and not wrt to this season year. Which kind of makes sense coz most designers (jewellery/fashion) have to design-forward.
