Chainmail Gemmies - long necklace - 71 cm

A solid yet light-hearted long necklace. Handmade with lengths of the intriguing Byzantine chain interspaced with wire-wrapped (with swirls) turquoise gemstones. Colorful and very summery.

Chain and wire is quality silver plated brass (Nickle and Lead free). Easy to put on and take off and will swing with you wherever you go.

Construction Notes

The gemstones are wire wrapped with swirls: fairly long length of wire, make a wrapped loop at about the mid-point. Put bead through and make a loop at the other end (also fairly long length left over). Wire wrap the wire creating swirls at both ends. When possible, interlock for a strong wrap.

Various lengths of Byzantine chainmail is made and attached to unfinished loops of wrapped gemstones. Then finish off loops and subsequent wire swirls.
