The apple features prominently on the front cover of the first book in the series, entitled "Twilight". As stated by the author, Stephenie Meyer, the apple is the forbidden fruit which represents the forbidden nature of the love between Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. This love, that seems so contrary to nature, is also examplified in the "Lion and Lamb" symbols where Edward Cullen is represented by the Lion and Bella Swan by the Lamb.
So taken together, these divergent symbols of Forbidden love that is "unnatural" in the known scheme of things are also on the flip-side of the coin, proclaiming a path that would represent the peace when the wild and the meek shall merge.
But more than that, the camera represents that momentous birthday where Bella is nearly attacked by some of the Cullen family during her birthday celebration in the Cullen home. This lead to Edward's foolhardy but well-meaning decision to break off with Bella for her own good which lead to a whole series of events including the rush ed plane flight to Italy to try and save Edward's dangerous attempt at suicide.
It is in this period that they become the best of friends and Jacob Black falls in love with Bella. The bikes represents this period in their lives and the special relationship that they formed.
It is also in this period that Jacob becomes a werewolf - a huge, gigantic "reddish brown" wolf with black eyes.
The wolf head charm is deliberately set with jet black cubic zirconia, distinguishing Jacob in his transformed werewolf state.
It is also representative of Emmett Cullen who was mauled by a bear in 1935 and was saved by Rosalie who begged Carlise Cullen to save his life by turning him into a vampire. Emmett and Rosalie later married.
