Foiling
Swarovski Foiling
Some stones are foiled to increase the brilliance of the stones. In foiling, the underside of stones or crystals are mirror coated with a metallic finish. There are different qualities of foiling and Swarovski, not surprisingly, has one of the very best in the industry.Swarovski Foiling Codes

Platinum Foiling (F) | The highest quality of foiling where the crystal is coated with a protective platinum coloured layer. This foiling is exclusive to Swarovski who introduced it with the super brilliant XILLION chatons. This results in a never before achieved brilliance and optimal adaptation to varying colours of casings. This exclusive Platinum Foiling enhances the XILLION cut (which has the highest brilliance in the world) by protecting the crystal during further processing (e.g. electroplating or soldering), thereby ensuring the permanent brilliance of the crystal cut stone. |
